Sales

Prices are in USD. Sales are final. If you would like to make adjustments to your order once paid, please contact us to see what can be done. Depending where your order is in production we may be able to accommodate alterations. Orders cannot be cancelled. Oda & King is a small business with only 3 employees- Husband and wife- Cor Oda and Kit King- who operate this business full time, and Kit's father- Henry Alan-(owner and lead craftsman at HASK studio), who we recently brought on part-time to help with order fulfillment and custom orders. We do our best to provide quality work and service to everyone who puts their trust in O&K. Each item is hand-made with love and passion where we embrace seeing the artists hand, so please keep in mind each piece may have small variance that reflect the hand-made nature. You may request a photo of the work prior to shipping to make sure you love your piece, and reply with notes on anything you'd like tweaked. Once a piece has been approved and left the studio, there is not much we can do, so it's best to sort out during production.

Invoicing

We can only issue an invoice to one email. Price quotes are only good for 30 days, though the invoice payment window may be shorter depending on the order ie- if the item(s) are scheduled for sooner delivery.  Please read all parts of the invoice carefully prior to payment.

Shipping

Shipping is via UPS. Shipping may be discussed with customer prior to shipment to confirm a suitable delivery window. Items are shipped with tracking and that tracking is provided to the customer before delivery. It is the responsibility of the receiver to make sure someone is there to receive packages. It is the responsibility of the receiver to track the items and alert us if the parcel has not been delivered within the stated time, so we may aid in securing any lost packages before they are abandoned by the shipping company.  Any duties are responsibility of the receiver. Duties vary from country- please check with your institution to see what if any applicable duties you may encounter.  If an item arrives damaged, please notify us within 3 days of delivery. For this reason please inspect any items upon delivery to make sure they arrived intact. If an item is damaged please take photos of the product and its packaging to send to us. Please keep the item in the packaging as it may be required to send back to us. Do not discard the packaging.

Hand-Delivery

We have our own driver and offer hand-delivery for fragile items, larger items or larger orders as an alternative to unreliable and expensive freight shipping. Hand-delivery is possible across both Canada and the United States. Prices for our hand delivery option vary upon location. We can often stack multiple client orders on one delivery to lessen the delivery costs for each customer. If you have paid full delivery, and other orders are stacked with yours, we may issue a partial refund to account for the lessened split costs. When providing you a hand-delivery quote, it will always be for the absolute highest amount, though we almost always stack orders (unless one large order fills the truck), so you are most likely to pay less than the initial quote. We pay duties on items on the delivery truck prior to crossing the border- this means there will be no extra fees after or upon hand-delivery, but you may see a duties charge on you invoice. For items that are being hand delivered- please inspect you item(s) immediately upon arrival.  If a piece was damaged in transit, ask our driver to hold, and contact us immediately so we can guide you on the next steps.

Duties

Any duties are responsibility of the receiver. Duties vary from country- please check with your institution to see what if any applicable duties you may encounter. Items are shipping and delivered from Canada. They are Canadian made goods, shipping from the country of manufacture. Please note we have no control over duties. Some items are charged, some are not. We have no say in the amount charged. We cannot adjust the bill of sale to reflect a smaller amount to lessen duties, so please keep potential duty fees in mind when placing an order. If you refuse to pay duties upon the arrival of your package, the package will be abandoned by the shipping company. We cannot pay duties on your behalf, and we cannot recover abandoned packages.

Damage

For items that are being hand delivered- please inspect you item(s) immediately upon arrival.  If a piece was damaged in transit, ask our driver to hold, and contact us immediately so we can guide you on the next steps. For pieces that were shipped-If an item is damaged please take photos of the product and its packaging to send to us. Please keep the item in the packaging as it may be required to send back to us. Do not discard the packaging.

Depending on your location and the extent of the damage, we may have the piece returned to the studio for repairing, or we may personally fix on site.

Please extend caution when handling your piece and during install- we are not responsible for damages that happen after the item arrives. If you are unsure how to handle your item, please don't hesitate to email and ask us. We are more than happy to relay proper handling to you or install crews. Some general tips include:

-Do not forcefully remove your item from its packaging.

-Do not put pressure on the item when removing from packaging.

-Pay attention to which way is UP when unboxing.

-Do not place curved plaster on a hard surface. (ie: our plaster lights should always be rested on a soft surface. Placing them directly on the ground may result in chipping due to the weight and surface pressure on a hard surface).

-Do not lean your item on its side where it may be prone to shipping or cracking.

-For larger items, be sure to move them with adequate support- supporting centers so they do not flex and crack/break.

*Please note, fissures (micro/hairline cracks) in our stone products is not considered damage. They are superficial and do not disrupt the integrity or durability of the piece. Limestone cement cures over a period of time as it goes through several compression strength phases. The product is cured after 2-7 days, stronger after 2 weeks, and reaches full compression strength after 20-30 days. Temperature changes from our region to yours may cause hairline fissures during the setting phases. These do not affect the waterproofness of our products. They do nor risk leaking, as they are only superficial and the waterproofing happens deeper in the product. If you are bothered by their appearance, you may take a stick of beeswax to fill the line in, and scrape away any excess- or choose to embrace them as we do in part of the wabi-sabi philosophy.

-Our products are not designed for outdoor use. If you would like a piece to be suitable for exterior use, you must contact us prior for a price adjustment that allows for additional weatherproofing steps to be taken on your piece.
